That's a primo shot of a swallow in flight, Shalu. Great work.
Thank you very much, Mike!

I got lucky with this one as it was in the morning with storms in the area so the light was not good and I was just happy to get it in focus with such low shutter speed.

Archibald You must be quackers! More info | Apr 14, 2019 10:16 | #17261 Boatman1 wrote in post #18845412 I know that I have made a mess of this one, but I would like advice. I had been testing my lens at various apertures using a map and I left it set on f32. I had also previously set my camera to be able to over ride the ISO setting in certain circumstances. I used aperture priority for this shot. I was walking on my normal morning walk crossing a pedestrian bridge over the mouth of the River Doon. As I reached the bridge 2 swans started to fly towards me under the bridge. I had time only to grab this shot and got the second swan, but highlights are seriously blown. The shot was taken at ISO 12800, and f32. What lessons do I learn from this? Thanks Lol! When a moment presents itself, just shoot. Thanks Two important things with this pic that would affect the IQ - Lens diffraction limit f32 is too high should be between f8/f11 on that lens/body for best IQ and also 300mm on that lens is not renowned for being tack sharp, if you could wind it back to 200mm it would help a lot.
