I like the two shots of the cygnets and the parent bird, plus the close-up of the adult is nice and sharp, Richard.

almost did not even get a shot this morning as i was out for the first time with the repaired lens. thankfully a sparrow showed up for a pose and then the monsoon hit me. never fails when i have a new toy to play with. seems to function properly but i suspect i'll need a micro adjust(looks like its front focussing a bit) but pretty happy with the repair.

I get the feeling I've missed the post explaining what was wrong with your lens, if so I'm sorry but could you explain again, please :) I'm thinking there may be something up with mine, on the way to a location last week the camera and lens fell off the car seat, bump, and every photo I took there was just slightly fuzzy. Same thing the next day until I switched the IS on, I always have it off for 99% of usage, operated the lens and then switched it off again. It seems to now be working fine again. I spent a couple of hours there quite worried and now I'm not sure what to do with it.
