I like the way you captured the emotions of the bride and groom separately, showing both in the frame, but only one in focus. Cool idea.

First Impression: A carefully selected cast of actors staged the ideal wedding day. The entire shoot was completed in just four days.

Second Impression: This is the result of hiring a superb wedding photographer.

Third Impression: Cyprus is the place for a destination wedding. Check Cristian Dasc─âlu's calendar before setting the date.

For me the first photograph works well, it tells a story. But I am afraid I don't like the second at all, it just looks hurried and wrong. Possibly because the subject nearest the viewer is out of focus and this is where the eye is drawn to first.

Lots of good emotion captured and the set told the story. Beautiful.

Thank you King Kenny,

Your impression is much appreciated. Please allow me to express the way I saw and it photographed it:

First one - he's nervous, he hasnt' seen his chosen one wearing the bridal dress, he knows hes host moments apart.
Second one - her eyes fixes him, she holds strong her fathers hand, her fathers hands express happiness and accomplishment.

It is just my point of view, I hope it makes sense for you now. Thanks again for your feedback!

I don't normally comment on photography in critiques, but to me these tell a storey, shows the raw state of affairs and, I expect, is just 2 of a series of capturing their special moments in time.
As such I would see it as such.

Personally I like it and if that was me in there would be pleased of the way you've done this.

But then, this is what photography is about. It's your storey, or in this case theirs.

Do they feel good about it?

I love the look in the brides face, quite lovely and those hands tightly clasped.
There's real storey in these IMO.

Thank you Richard,

Here is their opinion:

"I've read the online write up of our wedding and absolutely love it, you write so eloquently and it's a joy to read. Thank you!" :) Nothing about the photos thought :)

I jumped in too soon.
I've just looked at your photos and they are brilliant IMO.
So all very natural looking ,the people, colours and light, the 'little touches', (love that sign the little girls carrying).
The more I saw the better it all got.
So, back to your post, I really think it can't be separated from the overall series.
It's integral, it's real.

I'll get back in my box, but I enjoyed looking at that marriage celebration.
You captured it beautifully.

Edit. They conveyed a good message. I wouldn't read omissions (no comment on photos) as a negative.
They probably were absorbed by the whole write-up.

Great shots. It's not an easy place to light (I shot a wedding there in 2009) but it sure is beautiful!

First photo is excellent! It seems like the groom is thinking... "Oh my, am I doing this for real?!" :-D:-D:-D

One picture: "Please rest your phones and cameras during the ceremony."

Next picture: Woman using her cell phone to photograph the flower girls coming down the aisle.

Drives me nuts. When will people respect the wishes of the couple? It's their day!

Your work is clearly better than anything they captured. Nice job!
