Went to Escher Exhibition in National Gallery of Victoria Melbourne. Here is a photo of one of his wood cuts of a freighter that he traveled on. I believe he loved sea voyages especially on freight ships which he took many photos.

Taken on the River Thames at Henley, built in 1870 this steam powered boat is one of the oldest powered vessels in the country, SABRINA was built as the inspection boat for the Gloucester and Berkeley Ship Canal. It is thought that the interior of the vessel was fitted out by the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Works. She was used for the company's annual inspection of the canal and for various other official duties, as well as by the directors for private parties.

Brilliant. Thanks for the bit of history.
Love these old steam powered vessels.
there's a vintage steam thread if you care to add to it.
It was started by another and I asked him if it's okay to add, but he didn't reply, but did 'Like' so kept it alive.
