ikahn makes some very basic monitors .. no recording .. but very good quality image considering the price of the cheaper ones.. i've owned a very basic one in the past cheap but not exactly rugged.

right now as far as budget monitors all the youtubers seem to be gushing over the feelworld ma5 .. i've never had it

I'll check it out, thanks.

The Tamron 28-75 was waiting for me when I got home today. Been using it in the garden with the kids for a couple of hours and really liking it so far. Eye AF is fast and silent and the IQ looks great. Really sharp at f/2.8. Size and weight/balance good too. Think I’m going to like this one

Looks like a winner. I'm glad to hear that auto eye AF works well with this lens too.

Here is a video I put together quickly to explain how I add my signature to my images, or at least in this case, how I add it to a branch on a photograph of a hummingbird.

Me too. I had read of issues with the initial batch of lenses and wasnt sure if I had to update my camera or the lens firmware. I have no idea how to update a lens firmware and my camera is about 2 firmwares behind as I havent bothered to change it as it works for me. Luckily it seems fine out of the box.

Gene, cool how-to video. Just a suggestion for putting the text behind the subject (the bird claw in this example). Instead of quick select and copy to a new layer have you tried adding a layer mask to the text layer? That way you can simply paint the claw back in. if you make a mistake you just flip the colour from white to black (or is it black to white??) and paint out the mistake. Thats the way I would do it but you may find your own method quicker

It doesnt look it...

I basically just shot a bunch of stuff with it. I dont usually go for the entire "testing charts" stuff unless i clearly see a problem. Importing what ive shot now to look at on my monitor, i think i have a very funny little Animal Eye AF + 35 Distagon example lol

Distagon and Animal Eye AF test, I was messing around a little and he decided to bark in the middle of it... It held his eye perfectly despite him moving quite a bit

And 100%

Not edited or anything because its just a "testing this out" image so the color is a little off and etc (He's a little more "red" than this) but i figured id post it because fun

I was never big on zooms but that lens changed it for me. It's perfect for travel and will always go with me now! Congrats :D

That's good to hear! I think most people just take a photo of a wall stopped down and see if one side is sharper than the other. If yours is good then you can be very happy since it's an excellent lens!

This is something ive been struggling to get, its not perfect, but i still love it (Been racking my brain on how to work that out, Stopping down more will include too much background and getting them to sit and cooperate is hard)

Cactus flowers can be rather breathtaking, if viewed up close.
