Make sure you downloaded the A7iii firmware and not the A7Riii firmware. I’ve seen people try that a few times only to have it fail.
Did you run the program outside the folder first? Then run the program inside the folder?

Double checked the correct download, ran it outside, inside and even dragged to my desktop to run it from there. Darrell

Apr 16, 2019 15:15 | #739 I know others have had issues with cables that are charging cables only apparently, they don't work for data. Did you try maybe re-downloading the update from the Sony site? Mine went thru right away using a third party cable I have on my desk. Also make sure no memory card or lens attached. gareymartin.com

Apr 19, 2019 18:19 | #745 I was out shooting the sunset but when I went to expose for the sunset I noticed the evf stopped darkening after 1/2500. Yes, I have the Live View set to On. I took it up to 1/8000 to see if it'd darken on the evf but it was no difference from 1/2500. Is this natural or am I missing a setting? JohnBphotography.net

Is this using native or adapted lenses? I noticed that issue before when using my MC-11 with adapter lenses. I don't have that issue with native lenses and only adapted.
