Shutter dial not changing shutter

A couple of things is that a digital or a mechanical shutter display you are talking about?

Next have you try doing a factory default on the camera?

Have you try using a different battery?

Did you do a firmware update?

Talking about the display on top of the camera, the display inside the viewfinder and the lcd screen when you hit info to display all the settings. The dial did not change anything anywhere. I was at one point only able to change shutter or aperture on the lcd by sliding the pointer on the screen to change it.

I have not done a factory reset. I might do that tonight just to do it.

I do not have an extra battery tray.

I have not done a firmware update. I will check camera and check canon to see if there are any new ones.

Ok did you try any of the suggestion I posted? and if so what happen?
