Hi Mickey, Theres an app called Merlin by Cornell Labs you can download for free, it's very helpful and easy to use. My first thought was your bird is a Red Shoulder Hawk, not 100% sure though.

Great Horned Owlets...all of the original three have now left the nest. This was taken a few days ago when there were still two left.
