These are part of a vintage set of Regent Stainless cutlery of Sheffield, England I've had since about 1969. Of course, they weren't vintage when I bought them. :-)

I believe they are, from left to right, a butter knife, a cheese spreader, a cheese fork, and a cheese knife.

Gene, those vintage implements are in great condition. You sure take good care of your antiques. ;-)a

Thanks. I think a paucity of use has more to do with their condition than my care of them. ;-)a

My newest kitchen gadget, the Philips HD9641/96 Airfryer. I love the size of it, and so far, the ease of cleaning, and the end results. I'm looking forward to air frying many more types of food in it.

I'd love to hear more feedback from you, Gene.
I've always wanted a rotisserie which I used to have in one of my older wall ovens. Unfortunately the rotisserie gave up or the motor to be precise and haven't been able to find anything with high reviews and the right price. Please keep us posted. Thanks.

I will Renata. My neighbor made some Vietnamese pork rolls for me today and I'm looking forward to trying them in the fryer. I did some frozen, breaded, butterflied shrimp last night and they also turned out well. I'm even looking forward to doing a couple of hamburger patties in it. At my age, it just isn't much fun to get too elaborate in my cooking most of the time. I like simple, easy solutions for one person now.

When I see the word "rotisserie", I think of skewering something on a long rod that rotates over a hot grill. Is that what you're referring to or something else?

Thank you, Gene.
Yes, specifically talking about a rotisserie chicken. While rotating it's self-basted. Crispy skin, juicy interior...just delicious.
Enjoy the new gadget ߘ

Curious too with that air fryer Gene.

The wife picked up a Breville Smart Oven Air:

She's yet to try the air fry feature.

I used to have a Breville like that. The biggest issue I had with it was the size. I didn't have enough room to keep it out on my countertop full time and it was heavy enough to be a real pain lugging it in and out of a cupboard every time I wanted to use it. The size of the Philips Air Fryer is one of the main reasons I bought it.

It's basically a mini convection oven. I have no need to do pizzas or other large items but I should be able to do everything from french fried potatoes to steak in it. It should be a lot easier to keep clean than the Breville but time will tell.

Oh, I gave the Breville to my neighbor and she uses it all the time...and it stays on her countertop too. :-)

If you try your Breville as an air fryer, I used Ore-Ida Fast Food Fries Extra Crispy French Fried Potatoes (external link). They turned out exceptionally good.

I was curious so I did a size comparison between my Instant Pot and Philips Air Fryer.

Sorry for the boring images...

There is something very pleasing about this shot. Yes, it's simple and understated, but there's a certain quality that is easy on the eyes. It might be the light and its interplay with the wood. For me, the little tag in the lower left is a bit distracting though. But that's just my two bits. Nice job.

Thank you very much for these encouraging words. I take photo praise seriously when it comes from people whose own images show they know what they're doing. (The same with criticism.)

The main impression I get is one of calmness, and a big contributor to it is that the subject is predominantly horizontal. This scene would not work if the bowls were hemispherical. On seeing what I had, I nudged the horizontalness along to include aspect ratio by cropping out some bottom where there was irrelevant detail under the table. Other components: limited, warm palette; rhythmic placement of bowls and napkins; forks and spoons pointing toward other items rather than out of the frame.

Oh boy! :D We came across some others that were commenting how nice the air fry works...definitely on the list to try.
