This is a 100% crop (but not an enlargement). I mounted the EF 100-400mmL II + EF 2x III Extender + EF12 Extension Tube + EF 1.4x III Extender. It's also handheld and taken as a JPEG. However, it required two exposures to capture the moons of Jupiter - which were very faint... making this a composite of two shots. Yes, the 4-Stop image stabilizer is literally this effective with a 1/100 sec shutter speed. I had accidentally left my NiSi Natural Night Filter on the lens after driving to this lookout quickly from a failed attempt to shot the last Red Moon we had. Arriving at this location, I didn't realize the filter (which has a violet tint) was still on my lens until I reviewed the images.  HOSTED PHOTO please log in to view hosted photos in full size.

(8 images stacked to bring out more detail in the glow of the comet - although the comet itself was quite visible in a single exposure)

But I figured it's useful to show folks thinking about buying one what they're capable of capturing. The M6 is a magnificent camera, especially now that the price has dropped. Get a Warranty if you can... If you can get the M5 with a warranty, it's a good idea. I admire the M5 and have used one. It's a well built camera, however I know of one instance of a structural problem with the Base Plate (for the tripod mount) - the article can be found on DPreview and I took a screencap on August 11, 2018 so take a look around that date. The failure involved the internal metal base plate shattering the plastic housing around it, with large cracks forming towards the battery door and even towards the LCD screen. I have not heard of a similar incident since. The Photographer who owned the camera said he did not abuse the unit and was at a loss to explain why or how it happened. Though it looks to have been impacted in some way to cause this kind of damage, the image posted makes me think there may have been a design flaw on the M5 that does not occur with the M6 due to a different design in the same area on the camera (even though the M6 and M5 are essentially the same, there are two or three significant design differences). Additionally, earlier models of the M5 were prone to rubber deterioration on the grip, which I believe Canon appears to have since resolved. My only Dislike on the M6 The M5 is still Canon's flagship camera. The new M50 is their entry level camera. If I had to replace my M6 I would certainly purchase another. The only thing I dislike about it is that the shutter release sound is louder than I would like. Much louder than the original. But that can be overlooked and it's not a deal breaker. Settings: One other thing: We're finding that a lot of the latest models of EOS M cameras (with the new DPAF sensor) are shipping with the JPEG setting set to a "neutral look" (very much like RAW) which means no color enhancement or sharpening or contrast enhancement is applied. I was mortified after my first day using the M6 - until I realized what had happened. I think Canon was foolish to do this but what can you do? You need to go into the Menu after unboxing the camera and charging your battery.... and select the User Defined Settings. Pick one as a template. I chose "Fine Detail" which is great for my preferences since I shoot landscapes and in museums. I also bumped the color to the right on the Menu slider. This warmed up the otherwise cool cast that the default settings seemed to have. That's it. All the best!  HOSTED PHOTO please log in to view hosted photos in full size.

As much as I have liked the 40mm STM the look of the 32mm all around has the right characteristics to it. Have also pondered the 28/1.8 and 28/2 EF variants but that 32/1.4 edges them for the speed. The bokeh is a winner.

May 01, 2019 00:30 | #144 I've seen your pics with the 22/2 on another site. Those images planted that lens on the check list if it came up at a certain price point. I wasn't looking but the listing and timeliness presented itself. The 32/1.4 is on that list now.

The extension ring can lower the Minimum Focal Distance to around 50mm and I can get focus and infinity by pulling in the front element. I use my M5 with most of the other lenses and my vintage MF collection. May 06, 2019 16:21 | #150 So I'll be picking up an M5 used sometime in the next two weeks, but looking for a wide angle solution too. I have been really looking at the Rokinon/Samyang 12 f2, but I'm wavering between it and the EF-M 11-22. I know they each have their pros and cons and they are about the same price. I love my primes and the 12 f2 definitely appeals to me there. Seems like a neat lens, but I don't have a lot of experience with manual focus and the weird interaction between the lens and camera body is a bit of a turn off to me. The EF-M seems like it will just work, so maybe I should just do that. I had the 10-18 before and it was pretty good, but felt super cheap and it was a bit large IMO to go with the M system. 2 6D - 35 f1.4L, 135 f2L, 50 f1.8 STM, 85 f1.8
