Hello all- I haven't gone through all 275+ pages here so I assume it has been addressed, but I have a problem with my nose altering the focus point when looking through the viewfinder. Just when I have come to accept my huge honker I now have renewed hatred for my nose!

Lol I just posted the very same thing a few pages back. At first I thought my Tamron 70-200 was not playing well with the adaptor. Was constantly trying to focus ... pretty much figured out it was my beak causing the problem... been playing with holding the camera different the past couple days

Set it up so the only “active” portion of the screen for moving focus point is right side and plant your honker on the left side. Worked for me.

So we just got back from a week in Hawaii. I took the R and my Panasonic GX9 along with a variety of lenses for the trip. The Pany M43 was the “walk around” camera while the R was the “This may be the only time I can shoot this” camera.

R did great, but while spending the better part of 4 hours in the Botanical Gardens I became greatly annoyed with swapping lenses between the 70-200mm for shots like this:

Had I been there, I'd simply use my Spiderpro holster with the EOS R on one side and the 5DS on the other. Then maybe one lens in a pack, but maybe just the two.

Ah the great thing about POTN is all user experiences. Like a few im getting on

I own a 1DSmk3 which I have had for 10yrs ……… finding it way to heavy to lug around, because pain in shoulders hands, back and need reading glasses, trouble is its the best camera ever (past cameras 20D 30D 5D 1Dmk2). My wife owns 5d3 and that's a little lighter, I did look into a 5Ds but to old and wont help me much.


So a few points …….. use live view with canon connect app to my Samsung note8 ……. gives me bigger screen out in field. At 660gms its half the weight of my 1Dsmk3. And articulating screen may save my neck. I gain 10mp so what am I missing ……...


I shoot landscapes. sometimes portraits location with godox (xpro canon controller AD 200 and AD360) and studio normal strobes

It seems to me that if we put together the lists of advantages of each (EOS-r Vs. EOS 5D4) into two columns,. there is no question at all which column will be longer.

There may be truth to that.

For example, aside from the articulating screen or lighter weight, if we simply add to the lists each single lens where one body out performs the other for speed and locking focus during general shooting, darn tootin one column should be longer. Now, if we start getting into details like most focus points, frame coverage, etc., the outlook may change even more.

What body is better with the:

200mm 2.8 ... check
50mm 1.8 ... check
85mm 1.2 ... check
135mm 1.2 check

My redwood forest helper again. The smile of satisfaction when I say they are being photographed with the Canon RF 50mm 1.2 ... lol

I am loving the R paired with my Canon 85 1.4L, my keeper rate is so much better with this lens on the R than my 5D4

That's why I was joking at Cyberdyne in post #4142, with some seriousness.

Both are wonderful bodies, but the EOS R adapts to EF glass beautifully.

BEST color Toyota has ever made. I have a 2016 Tacoma and just my luck they didn't carry that color forward from 2015. I was so disappointed.
