Carajás ore train
From the world's biggest open-pit iron mine in the Pará state of Brazil to the sea port of São Luís in the neighboring Maranhão state, every two hours they carry iron ore to be processed overseas. Each train is 330 cars and two miles long. When I took this picture in 2015, a second track was being built so that the mine can double its production.

Thanks for both things you said!
I didn't intend to make the image that big. I have to scroll to see all of it on my computer. Any recommendation on what I should do to make my future portrait-mode photos fit on the screen?
John

Pekka has made things very easy for us. We can upload at most any size and the forum software not only resizes but does so in a way that retains high quality.

Since screen sizes and resolution vary the software allows us to click on an image and see it as our choice of full size or reduced to our screen size.

If you have other stuff of that quality, please post away with no concern for size.

that's awesome and beautiful to see.
What a magnificent machine and hats off to the workers.

Interesting the mix of modern (wind farms) and old in some of the views.

Thanks for posting
