I've also noticed since the update my lenses freeze up with the MC-11. I'll turn it off/on to reset it but like today I missed a shot.

I know of at least one other person who was complaining about the 70-200 2.8 II in particular after the update.

The only thing I’ve noticed different is that I now have to turn the lens IS off on my EF 300 2.8 IS, otherwise it tends to jump around weirdly when using AF-C. That’s really the only adapted lens I still use regularly.

Hopefully an MC-11 update will fix all of that.

I shot a wedding with the A7 III this weekend using my second memory card slot for the first time. Both cards are Sony 32GB SF-G Series UHS-II U3 Class 10 SDHC.
I'm unsure what was going on but it was sluggish. I shot both cards in RAW knowing it would write slower but wow!!! It seemed everything slowed down. I had to wait sometimes around 10-15 seconds just for the focus dots to appear. I shot in AF-C and AF-S. I watched a youtube video saying to setup it up like below for two cards.

Rec Media Settings
Slot 1 and 2 was set to Simulti (Pic/Video)

Today I took the card out of the UHS-I slot and put the Rec Media Settings back to Standard. The camera is now quick again. What am I doing wrong with two cards?

Did you try swapping the cards position? I have not experienced any focusing issues due to the cards. I've been using Samsung EVO Select UHS-I U3 128gb cards in both slots.

Well I thought things were good but I've been playing more trying to figure this out with only one card in. When I bring my camera to my face what I'm viewing pops up but it will take 3 to 5 seconds before anything pops up on the screen as far as my settings or focus points. I’ll then take it away from my face to look at the back screen and it will take about the same amount of time for anything to pop up showing my settings. I don’t think it was like that before Saturday, it was instant. Also when I hit the menu button, change the iso, shutter, etc it pauses before changing settings. Any help? I just spoke to my friend who also has a A73 and has no stalls. I know I missed several shots at the wedding due to it taking its time.

Edit: Tried each card, slow. No card, instant. Argh!!!!

What firmware version are you using? Firmware v2.10 "resolves a problem caused by specific third-party memory cards, where the cards cannot be recognized by Sony cameras." I don't know if your problem is what Sony is referring to or not but if you haven't already, it might be worth updating to version 3.00 which includes the v2.10 memory card fix.

If you've already upgraded your firmware then disregard. I'm still a Sony newbie! :p

That’s really odd. My A7iii doesn’t do anything like that.

Have you tried doing a factory reset to clear out all of the settings? That usually fixes quite a few issues.

I thought I posted it but don't see it. I put the camera back in default mode which cleared things up.

After reading, watching youtube videos, speaking to friends who are pros, like me, I decided to pull the trigger on the a7iii. I got it from Amazon on Monday. I am waiting for the Sigma adapter, but I got the kit lens 28-70, which is not great, but good enough for now. I watched 5 youtube videos to help me set up the camera and will start shooting when the adapter arrives later today. I am hoping to get a lot of mileage from this camera because I was considering the R or the RF. From handing the camera, I know it is probably as solid as the Canon bodies I own. Still using my 5DIV for pro work, but I'm retiring, so the a7iii is my birthday gift to myself for fun.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.
