Sony Lounge Thread MKIII (All Sony cameras welcome)

I have to give a quick shout out to the peek design everyday sling 10L because I really love this bag.

The strap on my old canvas casual camera bag broke, so being a fan of peak design stuff initially took a look at the 5L. I really needed something to just hold the a7riii with the 24gm and another small lens, but when I went to the camera store, the 5L was too small...as in aesthetically too small. Theres a fine line between a small messenger type bag and a man-purse...I have an athletic build and the 5L looked like a man purse on me.

At any rate, the 10L is bigger than I need, but I like the bag so much that I made it into a legitimate everyday carry bag. Right now I'm carrying the a7riii with the 24gm in it...a pair of headphones, a nissin i40 speedlight, and the osmo pocket. Bonus is that my Nintendo switch, which I bring everywhere because it's a great time killer, fits in the flap pocket.

This will also likely be my main bag for simpler shoots. I can fit the a7riii with the 85GM attached, plus two larger lenses in the bag. The nice thing about this bag is that it can hold a crap load of stuff without looking bulky. It holds as much as my think tank retrospective 7 but feels a lot smaller.

At anyrate. Super cool bag. This is what the everyday messenger should have been. That bag is really awkward.

Did anyone ever use the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX DG lens on an A7X/A9 body with adapter?

Looking through some old photos I really miss that lens and I can get it for cheap second hand so was considering it depending on how well the AF handled.

IMO the IQ was much better than they got credit for but the unpredictability of the AF is what made them appear soft at times.

I use the Sigma 50 F1.4 EX on my A7RII all the time. It works great with the Sigma MC11 in AF-C. No issues with Focus at all and it is quite sharp.

The PD 10L sling is my all time favorite EDC bag! I also have the 5L sling and 30L backpack. The 5L sling works well when I'm carrying the a6500/18-105 f4 + Godox v350s into Disneyland. I can also fit my Note 9, 5000 mah powerbank and spare camera batteries. But, I understand your comment on the aesthetics part of it being a small back on a large person. I was asked if it was my fanny-pack this past weekend haha

Damn it tempts me but luckily for my wallet, the copy I was considering wasn't up to my standards for condition.

I keep my all gear like new and baby it a lot so it makes buying second hand hard but selling my gear easier.

Spent yesterday afternoon playing with the A6400 and compared to the AF system on my 6 year old Canon 6D it's like going from a Ford Fiesta to a Tesla. I went to the skate park and locked onto a BMX biker for 63 continuous shots and the AF nailed it on every shot. Unbelievable. There's a big learning curve (shooting in 16:9 seemed cool but was a terrible idea) but I can not believe how great this camera is for action and sports.

Lol those things are prevalent in the southern US. I've seen clouds of those things when I was a kid

Carlo, the lovebugs are out of control in Central/South FL this year. Been in the panhandle for almost three months, where we were just starting to see them sporadically.

This week at the grocery store, I had to dodge them while I was shopping... and had to strategically time when I put my groceries in my ride so i could keep as many from getting in as possible.

They can't go away fast enough.

Loving mine too. Currently got the a7riii and Tamron in the middle slot, lox21 and cv40 in the right slot and a 2TB hard drive, a ravpower WiFi router and an anker blue tooth speaker in the left slot. The lid pocket holds my Osmo, various cables and various other bits and pieces. My front pocket holds a table top tripod and my gopro attached to the yunteng handle. Inside pocket holds my iPad Pro and my kindle. This is the setup I used to travel on the plane to Florida. Now that I’m here I strip out what I don’t need on a daily basis and keep I’m what I do need. Even when fully loaded the overall size is still quite small and not too bulky. Really loving it

Yep!! So annoying. At the Kennedy space centre it was like they were in a massive swarm that we had to walk through. Yesterday they were exceptionally bad at our villa too. Thank goodness they don’t bite or sting

it may seem like the silliest thing, but I love the side of the bag where the clip attaches. It makes grabbing your camera out just a tad easier and/or just a nice place for me to store my clip. I have the pro pad, which I love, and that is stored inside the bag flat against the rear pocket, takes up no space, which I love. My outings are a little more simplistic with this bag, one zoom like the 28-75 or two small primes, just flip a coin..... and a diaper . For that purpose, I have the 5L. Anything larger, I have a backpack, which I'm growing to love, roll top + side access has been so awesome compared to conventional backpack. Just that little bit faster makes all the difference, and I have to carry all sorts of nonsense in there including baby food........

Good point about the clip! I love the fact that when I’m walking about with the camera I can just put it on the clip on the outside of the bag and then switch to shooting video, then when I want a photo again it’s right there. Really handy. Also allows me to free my hands when dealing with the kids without having to open and close the bag each time. I also sometimes use it to hold the camera during lens changes

Just found out about a BeAlpha event happening here in ATL...May 19...so I will be going to check that out...
