The gym is set up so access to seating is from the an upper level access 360 degrees, so I can pretty much stand anywhere I want up top.

Thanks for starting this thread - GREAT shots!!!
Here are a few of mine - most of these were in Israel at a tournament where the lighting was fairly good - lots of windows behind the players though. Most of the gyms my kids play at in Toronto are relatively dark - I've heard good things about the 85 1.8 - found a used one locally for a great price, so will see how that complements the 7-200 and 17-50 2.8's...

Very nice Voaky. Very crisp for the ISO. Are these processed a bit?

From a local high school match. Pretty good lighting in this gym.

Some defensive play from a junior tournament. Terrible lights in the convention center for these...

From a recent HS tourney -
Suggestions / critiques welcomed, of course. (I have specific issues with both, but I'm curious if anyone else picks up those same issues, and how to resolve them.)

The first shot is Waaaaayyy too loose. I like seeing the face of the spiker but the capture is after peak action. Shoot tight, crop tighter. Too many distracting elements in the frame.

Shooting tight is a bit of an issue - my only zoom is 70-200 f4, which was great for baseball, but ... not so great for gyms. The 85 works well for tourneys (ASC/Momentus, not HS).

Cropping I can do.
