You get a dynamite shot of an alien spaceship and choose to reveal it here? This is National Enquirer front-page material! (or at least until their sale goes through)

LOL, just having a bit of fun in a supermarket car park!

Interesting and well photograped.
Love the design of the church.

Pews. Typically all similar and constructed from massive lengths of beautiful timber.
Numb posteriors guaranteed :p

Richard, thank you very much for your kind comments and encouragement. I don't normally go into churches - not my thing. But I do admire the simplicity of the small Protestant kirks in Scotland. I wasn't disappointed when I entered this one.

BTW, you said earlier:

Beautiful looking apples, and garden.
You certainly get results from that G5X.

I've very mixed feelings about mine.
It's rather erratic in the focus department.

Have you mastered it yet? Or moved on to something else perhaps.

Short answer no.
But I've accomplished more with it lately than originally, but still find it difficult.
It and I don't always cooperate. :p
I've occasionally thought I should sell it, but I see there's plenty of good/excellent shots (yours included) so keep it.

I still much prefer my Oly, but then it won't fit in my trouser pocket.

Richard, I thing the trouble is that you have a high end DSL which you know and like. Consequently you have not spent enough time with the G5X. Leave your Oly at home for a day and go out with the pocket camera. :-)

Try taking shots of that lone tree and post them in this thread. Bracket your shots and pick the best of 3.

Yes; keep it but use it.

I spent the whole of last week in the NW Highlands of Scotland but the weather did not make photography easy. The sunshine was distinctly quixotic and never seemed to shine where I wanted it! However some dark scenes did have rich colours which please me.

Here are some trees

Sea otters were playing around the islets in the last shot but they were all under water when my shutter fired!

Beautiful series Martin
Some seriously moody and beautiful images.
Looks like you've captured that well.

Thanks Richard. I enjoyed taking and processing these shots. Because the dynamic range was so great, I used "soft pedal" HDR for most of them. I used SNS-HDR but lightroom is very good at blending bracketed images.

I am still alive but my computer crashed this week and most of my time has been spent reloading and recovering. Fortunately I have only lost processed images :-)

I know that feeling. It's good you still have data.
Curious why your processed images are gone, but not your originals.

Years ago I sent my PC off for a rebuild and the bloke wiped everything. Years of my bushwalk/ wilderness photos gone.
