Thank goodness I'm not on Flicker. Sorry, guys that you have to endure the service interruption!

Anyway, I have customized the new beast and have been shooting myself stupid barely remembering what custom button does what...it will come eventually...brain overload.
I have tried several focusing modes and I seem to love the manual one for it's killer abilities to dial the focus while the image is magnified; what a joy!
So here is a sample image in manual mode and manual focus...just a lovely head of a hydrangea bush that has shown her love for the TLC I've been giving her? for a few years. So, now I whisper the sweet spells of love not only to the rotten grey cat but also to my flowers. :)
No PP at all apart from reducing the size and a slight sharpening. Love the Batis lenses!

Platform migrations are understandably challenging. But flickr has been a buggy mess all these months since smugmug took over and things like the magic view are severely diminished.

I've at peace with paying for flickr since in my attempts to find an alternative showed me that no one else offers a better photo hosting service....but the reliability needs to be there.

I think if Flickr disappeared this is the only place I would post my photos to besides my website.

I use IG but I hate how much they compress the images to the point they lose all their quality. Plus the fact they are owned by Facebook doesn't help.

Flickr has so much potential and I'm hoping Smugmug can really improve it.

I’d go all in with 500px...I like that platform.

Yeah I might start posting there again.

A lot of people had issue with the Chinese stock agency buying them but from what I see there was no real major changes.

Kinda Sony related but are the sensors in Huawei made by Sony? If so they will see a small loss in profit if this who ban doesn't get solved.

I used to use 500px but no more after they were bought by a Chinese company. Plus they were hacked recently. I wish IG would go away too. It’s such a mess too with influencers and such.

I didn’t realize Flickr was being migrated to Amazon Web Services. I can only imagine the amount of data that needs to be migrated.

I can't upload anything right now. I'm starting to see new stuff being posted on Flickr, but my upload attempts are all crapping out at "verifying". Maybe tomorrow Flickr will work for me.

They did say they are putting it back online to certain users at a time so maybe your location in particular isn't fully back online yet.

EDIT: not working for me either now. Could be everyone trying to upload at the same time.

I checked the Flickr Help forum and they are working on fixing it.

It’s funny how our views are all different. Few people saying they wish IG would disappear but to me IG has the highest caliber of photos. If I want to look at other peoples work and be inspired it’s IG. I use Flickr as a photo dump to post here. I can’t get any traction with my own stuff on IG though so I’ve stopped posting to it

I would definitely agree IG has a high caliber of photos but the way they are displayed is much lower quality due to the compression. The things I really hate about IG are

1. owned by Facebook (I'm sure everyone knows why this is a bad thing)

2. People constantly following you then unfollowing you a few days later to build their follow count

3. Copy and paste comments (great shot, check out my work?)

I know there are some people who do spammy type comments on Flickr but I haven't experienced it and I don't get people follow then unfollow me there.

To me we need a site that is more dedicated to photography and isn't mainly a social media site. 500px was great in it's prime and we need someone to create something like that, or preferably let Smugmug transform Flickr into that.

p.s I love my Sony A7III very much (this makes this whole thing somewhat related to the thread :p )
