So what are folks using to carry their gear in?
I've got a big backpack for when I'm carrying everything including the kitchen sink but would like something I can put the 1DxII in with a 100-400 and a 24-70.
Any suggestions?

I have two suggestions for you:

1. I use a military tactical backpack that I purchased at a Sportsman's Warehouse store. They can also be found at any 7.11 tactical store. Mine is a day pack which is perfect for my 1DXii and a 24-70 lens (plus a few extras). These shoulder packs are extremely comfortable for long walks. The padded shoulder straps and adjustable chest strap allow the bag to be worn for long periods of time.

2. For short little jaunts, I use a shoulder bag (referred to as a blind bag. They come in many sizes, and work very well. Mine is made by Avery, but other brand will work just fine. Sporting goods stores that carry waterfowl gear will have them. I purchased mine through Cabella's.

These bags can be purchased for much less money than camera stores sell their bags for. The thing is, they work great.

Sorry, but I mistakenly photographed my 7Dii with battery grip and 100-400 instead of my 1DXii. The small lens shown is a 24-70.

I've been using a ThinkTank Airport commuter bag. Has room for my camera body with the 24-105 attached, my 150-600 or 120-300 super tele, the 16-35, a flash, rain cover, 3 spare 1DX2 batteries, filters, and spare memory cards.

Beautiful photo and sheep (lamb?) What's that orange spot between the horns?

There's a camera shop nearby that does sensor cleanings. I'll take it in this weekend

Sorry to hear it got you too, Derek. I think mine has it a little bit, but so far haven't had it intrude on too many shots. Might send in for a cleaning before my CPS membership expires, just to mitigate any further splatter.

Aside from that, are you enjoying the 1DX2?

Yeah I love the 1DXII had it now since just after launch, just have to keep on top of the sensor cleaning but I usually do it myself.

Thats just to mark the sheep so the owners know who's sheep os who's.

I use a Thinktank Streetwalker Pro:

I use a F-stop Guru, holds my 1DXII with 70-200 2.8 II IS, 135L, 17-40, 351.4, 50 1.8, 24-70 2.8II all the lens hoods 6D and batteries etc, not a massive bag but perfect for me.

i use a Tamarac backpack style camera bag because I take everything, including the kitchen sink, with me while shooting outdoors. So many times I used a smaller shoulder bag and "Dang! I wish I had my flash" or "Dang! I wish I packed that 400 telephoto". Then I got a herniated disc from carrying a too heavy shoulder bag on one shoulder so I went with a dual strap backpack and have been very happy.

I went out in between thunderstorms this late afternoon/early evening. Horribly dreary light, super humid, intermittent rain, lots of bugs (summer is the absolute worst time of year), but I made the best of it.

So did these turtles

Two unusually nice shots, Matt. The turtles apparently did not seem too concerned the poor weather.

Thanks, Mike. It was one of those days where you could hear thunder in the distance and rain was coming/going, but these turtles were oblivious to all that... you could totally tell they were just being polite until I left.
