Nice Bleeding Hearts behind that mallard, Rob. Which of you two (you or Amy, not you or the mallard) is the green thumb? :-)

That would be me because it is planted around the pond which is my project. Amy does great with the herb garden she does.

We have planted many native species around the pond last year. Hoping to see what they do this year.

Thanks for the comment

Beautiful! Looks like a fine painting. Good bokeh in upper background.

Unique shot. I've never seen them like this with a fish.

First hummingbirds on Mt. Evans, Colorado, at the lodge. No flowers for them, lots of snow and ice around. But someone had feeders for them.

This is quite a great honor to have your photograph chosen for the cover of the Netherlands Ornithologists' Union scientific journal. I can see why your photograph was the one they wanted. Very nice work, and congratulations on a well deserved honor.

Hi All..

I’m very happy to have one of my photographs appear on the cover of the Netherlands Ornithologists’ Union’s latest edition. It features my photograph of a Cactus Wren. Ardea – the journal’s title – is a peer reviewed scientific journal and the official publication of the Netherlands Ornithologists' Union, having been published by that body since 1912. Below is an image of the journal cover followed by my original photograph.

Thanks
Tom

A Woodlark gathering nesting material, its mate (I assume) was nearby doing the same. The both did the freeze and you can't see me thing letting me approach a bit closer.
