First self-portraits in about 10 years. Just got my new camera in and was using some old lights I had laying around. Got a long way to go, but I like where I'm starting.

Sadly my wife's grandfather, Ray Petherick, passed away in his sleep on 11 March, at 92 years of age. Ray was a true gentleman and pioneer in the Top End of the Northern Territory of Australia: a crocodile hunter and farmer, logger, saw-miller, ethno-botanist, rock art researcher, and chronicler and photographer of local history and Aboriginal culture, with which he was intimately involved.

A story about him appeared on ABC News online yesterday. You might be interested to take a look.

I took this photo of him at his 91st birthday party.
