Does anyone know when the Tamron 17-28 is likely to be released? I sold my CV15 tonight so now my mouse is hovering over the buy button on the 16-35GM but I would like to try and hold out and see what the Tamron is like

Press the button :)

I love the accuracy of the AF with the GM :)

I would actually rather have a focus scale than af on this lens or an infinity hard stop. I guess not possible due to focus by wire

A 100-400GM + 1.4x will get close to 600mm, but 1.4x is an additional cost. So overall I’m liking the bang-for-buck value of the 200-600 over the 100-400 for my interests (would be primarily a bird/critter lens).

And the 200-600 would be faster at 6.3 than the f8/f11 of the TC combos.

Was supposed to be last week. I am first in line at my friends store to get on the pre order list so I would think your minimum 60 days from having anything in hand

Had I been buying a camera lens combo today it may be a harder choice for me. 100-400 or 200-600, more research, more reading more videos to watch etc. I still believe the 100-400 is right for me, it is crazy sharp and a stop lower at 4.5-5.6 which helps on the overcast or rainy days. I mostly shoot sports so when the action gets close I can still capture it at 100 mm. Following a game there are often impromptu celebrations or team groupings that 200 would just be way too long for. I don't have a second body (would be awesome though) and changing a lens will take some time and I will miss a shot. Now if I can come up with the extra money for another body and the 400 2.8......

Its not a bad thing that there are some more solid choices from Sony.

I've been waiting for a longer lens after selling off my Canon gear and the big white last year but the f4 won't be in my kit. I sold Canon because of weight and so the slower 200-600 will have to do. I'm excited to have the additional reach coming.

I am...press release today...$1,997....that is a steal IMO...

about 5 hours and 1.5 miles hike...the rhodies won't be in bloom, but I would entertain the trip!

That's not too bad of a weekend trip. Justin may be down for a reunion.

Just need to see if it's real and exactly what it is. I'm a bird/wildlife shooter so it's coming up on the radar.

Happy birthday.

I would like to get back into shooting birds and wildlife. Looks like a nice lens for it. Thank you for the birthday wishes.

By the way, if anyone wants to follow my landscape work, you can follow me on IG @alfredomoraphotos . Starting fresh has been a big pain. On the plus side, I can be very specific about who I follow. I'm following way too many random people with my other main account now dedicated to cityscape and architecture.

===============

I like how the FE 16-35 GM rendered this scene with the foliage surrounding this small spillway.

If the 200-600 is as good as my 70-300G I'll be happy with it.
I know many will not. Personal choices. But to celebrate the 200-600
I shot with the 70300G today. This a crop, I had the whole bierd in the frame.
Looks like focus was on the point of the beak/peanut and not quite the eye.

Here's a full body shot via the 70-300G.
Yep, I'd be happy to have these attributes in the new zoom.

I go the accessory kit for the Godox V1 the other day. They're basically mag-mods made specifically for the speedlight.

This is the coolest speedlight ever.

Bounce card, dome diffuser, and 1/4CTO filter attached.
