These shots are so clear and sharp, can i ask if you're using a tripod and what distance from the subjects are you generally shooting?

I use a mono-pod from inside a hide, these photo's are somewhere between 3 and 5 meters distance. (with 1.4EXIII and 5DIV, cropped 25-50%)

Went to a local store for the 1.4X III. They didn't have it in stock. I ended up with a second hand 1.4X II.
So far I'm very happy with the sharpness and AF when attach to the 100-400. Except the 7DII that can only use 1 centre AF spot and the focus inconsistency sometimes drive my crazy (happened with the bared 100-400+7DII as well).
