Something I really like to do when wandering around in a forest, is using my 85GM, shooting wide open looking for little details to highlight in the busyness of the forest. This little row of fern fronds stood out just enough and had nice separation from the darker background. Little scenes like this I really enjoy...

It’s wireless so no connections. Uses the cameras built in IR receiver. If you want to do more than trigger the shutter for bulb then there are more expensive options but for simple things like that I don’t see the need

If you can splurge, the new blue tooth remote is awesome. Connects wirelessly, no cords, extra features.

Yeah, but mine doesn't do that...doesn't return to center.

Yeah my center button does something else but the joystick does nothing when pushed.

Ship it off. That has become a critical function on these Sonys.

I also like the menu setting where I can, using the joystick scroll all the way left with the focus square, go
off the screen and it is instantly on the right side.

once I get home in a couple days, it goes off to Sony to find out about the Card Slot 1 anyway...I need to get that fixed, Card Slot 2 is so slow.

Alfredo, I know we had trouble getting focus right in Death Valley with the 16-35GM...last night I did some astro, and at least for the one I have rented, its perfect just at the point that the digital scale goes to infinity...just like the B18 was...I just left Live View on and manually focused. Pin Point stars...and the final nail in the coffin of the B18...now that I can do that easily in the dark...my mind is made up.

And the resulting astro image...right out the back of the house we are staying in...Milky Way over the moonrise, with Jupiter in the jaws of the MW...planned this out the night before, and will probably try to shoot it again tonight, maybe do one with the GM and B18 to compare. I would also prefer less clouds...

That's excellent Travis. That will make life much easier for your astro work. The only issue I've had with the GM lens is in low contrast and low light scenes. It has some trouble locking in focus using AF. Otherwise, it's an excellent lens.
