Sometimes, I like a little motion in bird photos .... the images seem more lively if they aren't totally static. Anyway, here's a male cardinal coming in for a landing.

You coulda been at F4 to increase your chances, and center point AF if you were not. Ditch that polarizer!

Yeah, I had to hustle because the deer were trying to beat it and barely looked at the settings for the first couple of shots. Did get one shot off after I took the polarizer off, that one was sharper.

Nice images !

Thank you. I'm not a birds-in-flight photographer, the Galapagos just provides enough opportunities that eventually you'll get a few keepers. I'll chock these up to luck, not skill. And that 70-200mm f/4L IS is one sweet lens.

Thank you! There’s a reason the place they were taken is called Artist Point.

I normally shoot action pictures of my German Shorthaired Pointers -- but we had American Kestrels setup in our Flicker box (for the second year) and the fledglings came out and went into the highest part of our biggest pine -- I pulled out my Tamron 150-600 G2 and the old 70D and took a few shots -- I was hand holding at a hard angle looking up so kicked up the ISO for higher shutter speed -- sort of wish I had kept it down to maybe ISO 400 though -- used to the 5DIV. I'm sort of out of my normal routine though.
