I got some cheap flashes (Yongnuo) and a $30 backdrop/umbrella/wanna-be studio kit recently to learn how to do headshots and more studio-oriented pictures to try and move past the "they look really good but they're still snapshots" stage of my photography. These are some of my first attempts (and the only few good ones out of a ton of far too dark/far too bright pictures lol).

I was also trying something new (to me) in the second picture here. I thought a kind of gritty pop would look good but I'm not sure how much I like it. Do you think I went too far with the edit?
