I'm thinking of returning the 24-105..

It reminds me of the 18-105 apsc lens for the a6500 I had.

It makes sense and is very practical in most situations..
But it's kind of a boring lens, paired with what im finding to be only ok at best OSS ,.. At least for video.

And with the plate on the a73 for gymbal I can't adjust focal length without pulling on it a bit , which makes me think putting pressure on the cameras base like that cant be good

I think for my use primes may be the way to go.

Or give the tamron a try.. it does seem to be narrower than the 24105, so it shouldn't interfere with base plate. And at 2.8 I can get a bit better subject separation.

But i think ultimately ill end up with a 35 prime,. Most likely the sigma due to coat.

I will say the AF for video was good all around though.

I see a lot of the images are saying 105mm f/2.8 G. What lens would that be?

I think a lot of what I like there is her editing style. It’s very consistent and I do like that crushed black look

Her imagery is like Travis' Mustang. I can appreciate looking but it's not something I want to do.

Wow indeed. Rosana is truly creative.

Yeah her photos are always very popular and with good reason!

LeeRatters wrote in post #18884990 (external link)
There's not much overlap with 21mm, 40mm and 85mm either ;-)a

Your right though, some people do like to complain and some people do like to have every focal length in their bag.

haha sure isn't

I know for myself personally even when I use zooms, I treat them like primes and will often shoot at one end or the other and not between haha.

I believe it's the Nikon 105mm f/2.8G macro lens! (external link)

Yeah I love crushed blacks so that's what really draws me in too.

There’s a person on FM called Helena that uses the Lensbaby lenses and her images are amazing. I’ve considered trying one due to her work

Yeah, I always though of the Lensbaby brand as some hipster-y crap, but Helena's posts on FM made me rethink that when I came across them. She does really nice work.

My FE 28/2 arrives today. That means that the 35/1.8 should be confirmed immediately after my return period expires in 30 days. :p

The straps on my hiking bag just slide to tighten via a plastic adjuster.

What I wouldn't mind, is replacing them with the typical plastic pinch release buckles.

Anyone done that? I might have to take it somewhere to be done though.....

Just need to attach the tripod to the side of the backpack (Manfrotto Off Road 30L) & thinking it might be worth a go before buying another hiking bag.....

You can order from any ebay seller the system/kit you want

Here's the Leofotos site have a look at all they have

https://www.leofoto.com/products.php?cateid=&page=0 (external link)

My recommendation would be the

1) https://www.leofoto.com/products_detail.php?id=254 (external link)

2) https://www.leofoto.com/products_detail.php?id=256 (external link)

On #2 ask if the can give you the lever version like #1 not the screw version on # 2 .. ( referring to how you lock your camera to the ball head )

MM ( Robert already mentioned the ball head that comes with the LS 284 is not that great )

Thanks for the links, they have some pretty nice stuff on there

There ballheads and tripods are clearly "inspired" from RRS models, right down to their naming convention.

on my ball heads I use a combination of lever and screws down type locking plates, for the lighter lenses I'll use levers for heavier lenses like the Canon 200 F2 on a monopod head I prefer the screw type especially because I often carry the monopod over my shoulder with that particular lens attached.
