This is really a stunning shot, Dennis.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate your comments.

I shot a burst of 7 frames using Auto Exposure Bracketing (hand held) and 5 of them had the bird more or less in the same pose, so this is a HDR composition, as the bird was into the sun.

I was propped up against a light pole to steady the sequence, with a big Pelican perched atop, preening. I prayed it wouldn't do a messy dump on me.:-)

Cheers

Dennis

Terrific portrait shot of this western kingbird, Bill. On my walk this morning, I saw several of them, and I plan to go back this evening with my camera and see if they wanna pose for me. :-)

Brown Pelican agitating water

Fantastic images Folks.

I observed this Pelican vigorously slapping the water with its wings.
I think it was some type of mating ritual.
Happy trails.

Cool, sharp shots, Paul. This one sure is throwing water in every direction. You captured the action very nicely.

What a really nice HDR composed shot, Dennis. When I first saw your photo, it was really an eye catcher. Now I know why. I hope you fared well with the pelican.:-P

Lovely bird, beautiful composition.
It has a fluffy chest. Probably not correct jargon

Very nice.
The colours and composition with that beady eye really makes a pleasing scene.

Those birds are so appealing as is this photo with the vegetation and flowers adding to the beauty of the scene.
Very nicely photographed

Series shot just over 2 weeks ago in my front yard. I noticed this morning that there are babies in the nest box that are going to fledge any day now.
