The Russian Orthodox Church of Unalaska, Alaska circa 1972. Built of wood in 1894-96, it is still Orthodox, still in use.

Agree, very pretty and appealing picture.
Love the composition and interesting the way the ridge of the roof aligns with skyline of hill behind.
Very nice indeed. A beautiful, simple structure too.

the church in Olsted Denmark where my wife was raised.

it was originally built in the early 700s as a way-station/road house for travelers. it STILL doesnt have any running water or restrooms. the pastor has a brick basin, that is built into the wall, behind the altar and a smaller funnel type opening that runs through the wall, a little bit below waist level for the use as a urinal!

Roskilde Domkirche (Royals Church) in Roskilde Denmark.

over 40 Danish Monarchs are entombed in the church's niches and catacombs. in another thread ("bring out yer' dead!") i shared some shots from inside, including the tomb of Harold Gomsson (Bluetooth) who united the tribes of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark into the Scandinavian " collective".

That's an amazing history and buildings.
Nicely captured.

Love the sanitary system. Rustic comes to mind :p
