Threading the needle and a crop image with the R3. Was using the a7R3 instead of a9 since I wouldn't be doing BIF

Crop from same series as below. I'm good at 42mp.

Yeah I don't see a pressing advantage of the IV. I'll hang on to the shekels for the mini-a9.
BUT looking at the specs of the IV tell me the a9ii/a9R is going to shake the Earth when it debuts.

Watching Kai’s YT testing of the a7R IV. He says the focus point sticks to the subject “like poo on porcelain”. I hope that means it’s good. ;)

I'm going to start upgrading complements next year so this 35mm will probably be my last purchase for a while.

Are you doing a full rebuild?

Is an iso of 32000 lower than previous r series cameras?

EDIT: I just looked it up and max native iso is the same for both cameras.

yup, even 42mp for me is a bit much :P

but wow, the m4 came out pretty fast. sony is trying to pump out cameras to compete with others I guess. took awhile for m3 to come out after m2, but m4 is too quick. Still feel like I just got my camera heheh

yah the reason why i bought the A7III, the R3 is too much for real estate work. it slows me down in post. I'm even thinking of M43. I waiting on the next OMD-EM1 Mark 2 successor. When I was on vacation, I still thought the A7RIII setup is big.

26 MP in crop mode with either 100-400+1.4x or 200-600 is great reach. I want the camera, but it’s going to be hard to pick the right long lens as both have advantages.

I dont understand all the negative comments on this camera. It is a "NEW" sensor that is huge. I really dont think they will have a new high rez out again until spring of 21. With the Olympics next year I think this is it. I dont know what an 9R would have. Now could they release a 7Siii and a 92 before the olympics yes but with this camera and my A9 I think for bodies I am set for 3 years minimum.

Which means I can get back into lens mode next spring which will come down to tamron 17-28 or sony 16-35GM and still wanting the 85 1.8

I am fricken excited

Second thoughts.
1. 26mpx in crop
2. AF at F11 means with 1.4 and 2.0 TC
3. colored AF points

Should be glad I'll be in middle of nowhere Alaska/no cell or internet when it can be pre-ordered ;)

4. Pixel density la mache!

Will mull this one especially if the mini-a9 doesn't get announced by fall.
There is a Nikon D500 inside every Nikon D850 via pixel density.....the A7Riv looks to have the cropper
I want inside :)
