just me being a smartass with all this 61MP talk going on...I love my a9 and I have no reason or plan to get rid of it...

Thanks BTW. I know images like that don't often win over a lot of folks but I really like them anyway.

That was obvious. I played with a A9 in the store when I picked up my A7iii. I was very very tempted, but decided to stick to my budget for once. It was right before the price drop they did in the spring, so the price difference was quite a bit more. Had I been there when they dropped it $1000 I may have gone with the A9.

Amazon Accidentally Sold $13,000+ Camera Gear for $100 on Prime Day

WOW, that is amazing. I looked at things on Amazon, but not gear I could not afford.

why does that not happen to me...LOL

I know right! I had ordered a few things on Amazon but didn't even look at photo gear. That a9 with 24-70 GM was a steal.

Yow.

Yep. Crazy.

A bit bored today so I played around a bit with my Loawa 15mm macro lens. No flash used, just adjustment brushes in ACR and a few masks in PSCC. I didn't like the distortion of the whisky glass and tried to even it out a bit using the puppet warp tool. It could use some more work.

There is distortion all over. But I like the colors and sharpness of this.

I decided their was just too much distortion so I deleted it Mike. Thanks for the comments anyway.

Sigh,

I figure by the time my A7r4 ships my A7r2 will go for about $700 bucks lol. Oh well it served me well. Going to send it into get a cleaning and check early Sept then package it out.

I am also interested to see how my Lox 21 and CV 10 work on all these pixels.

Ummmm

I was looking for adding some Faster cards over the next few months and found this.... tested on the A9 I was surprised at the results AND savings over what I would have just looked to purchase.

Not on this forum sorry I should have been more specific. On the Sony camera facebook and other forums people are blasting it for no reason. I even have a friend that PMd me how ridiculous sony is for putting out so much stuff LOL

Lol. Sony has two year life cycles, so you kind of have to expect some early obsolescence when you buy cameras.

The flip side is you can wait a little bit and get nice discounts on stuff... Just don't get upset when the new model is released 2 months later

I liked how the colors turned out on this one from Badwater Basin in Death Valley.

the way mirror less tech is moving , regardless of sensor size or brand is really impressive .. compared to what we saw from canikon Dslr's ..

however it certainly makes me think twice about preordering new bodies.. fuji bodies also lose their value pretty quickly..

although I think this all has caused even canon bodies and lenses to lose value quicker than they did before..

These are definetley good times for people who dont' need the latest of the latest tech..

and in some ways for those who love new tech (as long as your bank account can handle the stress)

This has me thinking hard as well, but I will wait until they are done announcing everything. The A9 is the only Sony I own, as I generally prefer my smaller lighter Fuji gear for non moving stuff. That 26mp crop is tempting though with a 600. I can always get my name on a list when I pick up my 200-600 ;-)a

As mentioned prior, I'm glad I'll be away from any wires or connections come A7Riv time, or I would succumb.
I shot with D850 today....bird was of course allowing me no proximity....no problem with 47mpx and cropping in, and
to think the pixel density of a 60mpx sensor is way more. How can I resist this? I'll tell you how, debtor's prison!
But yeah I'm going to chill and see if there really are 3 more body announcements.
I did ask Poof if she had an interest in the Riii, she said nope, Rii good enough for her landscaping needs and the 6300 good enough for her
wildlife. We should all be so happy with what we've got!

I've been considering an a6400 for the newer focusing tech to use along with my FE 100-400 for birding. And then along came the a7r4. -?
