Hi all,
One of my images (#1 below) was shortlisted for an award at the 2019 David Malin Awards in Parkes last weekend, which coincided with the 50th anniversary celebrations for the Apollo 11 lunar landing (during which the Parkes Radio Telescope played a key role in receiving the TV pictures which were relayed around the world). So this was a good opportunity for an astronomy road trip
The first stop was at the Australia Telescope Compact Array near Narribri. This is an array of six 22m dishes that are used for radio astronomy. Image #2 is a sunset shot (with me on the right hand side). I also put together a timelapse showing sunset followed by the Moonrise which illuminates the dishes as they track objects near the galactic core. That timelapse can be found here:

The next stop was the optical telescopes at Siding Spring near Coonabarabran, the "astronomy capital of Australia". These include the 3.9m Anglo Australian Telescope, which is housed in the largest of the domes in the image #3 panorama.
The rest of the images are of "The Dish" itself at Parkes. This 64m dish received the TV pictures of the Apollo 11 Moonwalk.
Hope you enjoy the images!
Cheers,
Stephen
