I agree with your choice of composition, including the light coming through the trees. Afiac, it is an integral part of a good piece of work.

Bravo!

thank

Great set. The first shot is different for a grad shoot but I dig it!

I love these. The 2nd with its color coordination is fantastic. One thing I wonder...

I'm pretty familiar with the IQ of the 135L and I find the bokeh of the first photo to be disappointing. I wonder if a wider aperture might have helped, but at the same time I appreciate your getting all of the subject in focus and truthfully I doubt it would have. To be clear, this isn't a knock on your work - which is great imo - I'm just disappointed in the 135L's rendering. (a first)

Regardless, these photos made me stop and look. Good work.

Kindness,

Julia

. . . The 2nd with its color coordination is fantastic.

I have a different opinion than Julia. Although the color coordination with the eye shadow (correct term? I dunno) is very accurate, I think it is significantly overdone in the ammount applied. The reason I bring this up is I have seen a few examples in other postings where similar over-painting around the eyes has been evident. I hope this is not a new "thing" that will be popular for the next number of months or years. I think that the face and eyes should be the focus, and the shadow coloring should be just enough to accent with coordinating color. Just MHO.

Thankyou for your comment. It was shot at F2, Actually subject to background distance is shorter compared to subject to camera distance.
Also to my feel it helped the composition a little rather than a creamy bokeh.
Attached the Jpg converted from Raw in lightroom below.
