I spent 1 night in Moab/Arches Nat'l park after the Grand Junction Airshow. The very brief version of the story is I intended to hike solo to Delicate Arch for Milky Way photos and made it. Also, I took the plunge a few weeks ago on my 3rd copy of the Sigma 18-35 in the last 18mos, and I think I finally have a winner.

Well done, have not seen many @ night from that angle. Did you go stand under it at any point? It's pretty crazy looking up at this mass of rock!

Thank you. We stood under it in March when we were there. Agree, it’s a very cool experience. I’ve got the pic of us under it printed. That March trip was the inspiration for a return at night, and used my airshow weekend as an excuse to extend the trip a night. It meant a 6hr drive home the next morning from Moab, but well worth it. For the night hike, I was solo and did not venture all the way over.

Thank you NCSA197. I am definitely more than happy with it, and many more I got from the airshow weekend.

It is a very nice shot. The white cloud background in that shot helped make that shot.

Have an older 100-400 L 1 lens. Did the MFA on it to bring in the focus. The lens has been giving me so many great photos. Next week I hope to pick up the newer 100-400 L 2 lens. Cant wait.
