This is book- and wall-worthy. The best I've seen in a long time.

I really like the overall composition of your second shot. It shows lots of action and water splashing. I also like lighting in this one.

LD, or Mike
Often mistaken, but never in doubt.

Now that's a really artistic shot. Lovely.

Thanks Mike
The action (the chase) was actually 1 vs 2 so there were a lots more action, but all prior images I kept focus on the water in front of them. Guess I can blame myself and a bit of the 7D2, but not the 100-400 -?

Thanks very much, Frank.

My wife put one up and I've sold a few, so it'll be on a few walls.

HOW did you get directly over him??

I was standing on a pier and I heard him. I looked over the side and he was standing on something under the end of the pier. The water was in shadow so I spot metered him and then under exposed it to get the water to go black but I didn't want to go too far and lose detail in the bird.

Not the Serengeti!

This is sunset in Argyll & Bute, Scotland - 8th August 2019

Like most of you here it seems I mainly shoot wildlife, but I must say the 100-400 has a huge advantage over my old 400mm prime in that it's very capable of taking landscapes like this when you're on the way home after a full day out in the field!
