I still use the Sony more because of the quick point and shoot with AF and zoom , the 16-35 mm stays on the camera, and sometimes don't carry the Leica for family gatherings or people shots. In good photo ops places I shoot both.

I still use my Canon for sun and moon shots.

I find that I lack some good shots with the Leica that I wished I shot with it than with the Sony particularly in sharing photos at Leica group, where only Leica camera of lens images allowed.

Which brings me to the latest Sony announcements, I am ready to pre order the 61 megapixel Sony A7R IV tomorrow, but I am also thinking of maybe spend more and get the 100 meagixel A9II rumored to be announced in September.

Two years ago I preordered the Leica CL ,but when I compared the images with the A7R, I decided to stick with the Sony for backup with Leica, now it appears the Leica is the main shooter....then I ask myself why not shoot more with the Leica and leave the Sony at home.

Will see how I decide soon on the new Sony :-)

Nice that you chime in here/

Cheers,
Tony

Feds reduce rate by .25 first since 2008, good and bad news, bad news the longest expansion of the economy is slowing down, good news Feds acting to keep it going.

I dont want to be political but I am now peaceful because starting three years ago I cut my cord and dont watch cable news.

What is this cable news you speak of? Sounds horrid!

CNN, MSNBC....:-)
The market bombed today after the .25 rate decrease...people expected more.

Even Fox sometimes I dont like - Shepperd, Wallace, I miss Judge Perrino.

are you just aiming for higher mp?

for now, few things with the upgrade from the original a7.

pros:
longer battery life
ergonomics
turning wheel
thumb stick
tighter lens mount
better evf and lcd display
continues auto eye focus (if that matters to you)
in body stabilizer

cons:
bigger body
heavier in weight
need faster and bigger capacity memory card
may need a faster/upgrade computer to process the files

honestly im not sure how the a9m2 will be 100mp. its more towards for sports, so having the need to process 100mp pictures will take a toll. its a big jump from the current a9's 24mp.

A92 is not going to be 100 mp but maybe 40 mp.

The A7R4 looks interesting with all the reasons you stated. Sept 12 is first shipment I dont know how far down the line I am with Adorama pre order, watching local availability too...

Sometimes I miss the high pixel density on my 7D but... the A7III is still amazing

hope you get yours early. Shouldnt be a problem. the a7r4 isnt a huge difference from the a7r3, so theres not many people who feels the need to upgrade. 3 was a big changer with the new battery and that alone got people wanting to upgrade :P

I'm surprised to see the a7r having an upgrade when the a7s3 isnt even available. I guess they are pushing out the r4 to compete with the new mirrorless market. Sony still wins me over because it's smaller in size. lens are pretty good too. If one day nikon improves and makes their system smaller, I may bite into it :D
