This one snuck up on me. We were backpacking in Denali and I had been so focused on crossing the many braids of the Toklat River that when we finished I was just happy that the river crossing was out of the way and wasn't really thinking about photography at all. I finished drying off my feet and put my pack been on, and when I turned around I saw this view; Fireweed blooming in the foreground and a river leading up to Divide Mountain with a gorgeous sky.

A spot of color.

I spotted this single red leaf floating about 100' off the trail. I'm pretty sure it was caught in a spider's web.

Every time I drive by this spot, which isn't that often, but anyway - I always stop and run around for a bit and snap off a few photos. Conditions are always a little bit different, and even though it's pretty small area, I find a different composition every time. This was a new one. Didn't realize a bird flitted through there until I saw the image on the computer.
