Anyone here currently shooting with two or more camera brands? I mean actually using two or more brands on a routine basis.

I currently shoot with both Nikon and Canon. I pack my 7dmk2 and my D750 in the same bag when I go out shooting anything of real interest. Somedays I'll take the 7dmk2, the next day I shoot with my Nikon D750.

I enjoy using both systems plus I have different lenses for each brand. For my 7dmk2, I shoot primarily with my 16-35mm f4.0L and my 70-200mm f2.8L. I recently purchased a 28mm f1.8 USM for it as well.

With my D750, I shoot mostly with my older AF-D primes (24mm f2.8, 35mm f2.0, 85mm f1.8, 180mm f2.8 ED) and my older manual focus primes as well including my 105mm f2.5.

My reasons for using both systems is that I enjoy the clean, fast images I get with my 7dmk2 (plus it's built like a tank, feels solid and heavy, fantastic build quality). With my lighter D750, I enjoy going light with small primes. Images are sharp, settup is great for when you are shooting all day and need a lighter camera. Funny thing is that, imo, there is virtually no difference in IQ between both cameras despite the differences in sensor sizes.

I still have my Lumix m4/3 system, but I gave it to my younger kid as I never cared for the IQ compared to even my older cropped sensor dslr's. I will occasionally use it to capture astronomy images attached to my telescope mainly because it is the lightest interchangeable camera I have (attached to a T mount adapter).

Anyone else here currently use two or more camera brands or systems? If so, what are your reasons for doing so?

I'm somewhere between my Canon 5DII and Fuji X-Pro1 having never quite moved over to the latter, and never quite abandoned the former.

As to why, I'm not entirely sure but I suppose the X-Pro has never entirely convinced me although on a purely objective level, it's easily good enough for the vast majority of what I normally do. When I first bought it, the camera combined with my lens selection at the time was not a match for the 5DII for shooting theatre - something I still did a little of at the time. However, with updates to the firmware and some newer lenses at my disposal, the camera is more than capable of meeting my needs and is easier to carry around which therefore makes me more likely to use it. However there are still those lingering doubts. I also still prefer an optical viewfinder to the EVF in my X-Pro1, and the first generation hybrid finder only works as an OVF when zone focussing, but doing so without a focus patch, a less than ideal setup which was improved upon in the X-Pro2 with its hybrid focus patch.

The size and weight of the Fuji is a big winner for me though, and I'd be reluctant to buy another big DSLR or any other lenses than the two I currently have which are some of the most compact available. This currently leaves me stuck between the two systems. However, it isn't really a problem as I have two cameras with which to produce work I am satisfied with, and a set of needs which does not see me desperate to purchase an additional camera in either system. I'm happy enough with what I have for the time being so I don't need to bet on one horse or the other just yet.

Pentax 645d (portraits) , Nikon D800 (street) and Sony a6000 (action). I will likely be moving to just 2 bodies when the Sony a7riv comes out though as it will be able to replace the D800 and a6000 for what I shoot. I still haven't seen any file from the a7riv yet that looks as clean as the medium format camera though so I'll be hanging onto that.

I shoot with both Canon DSLR gear and Sony mirrorless gear. Each type of gear has its advantages but, I use the mirrorless cameas more often lately because of the reduced weight and the great Eye (both human and animal) Auto Focus.

I'm shooting Sony and Canon.

I've used Canon dSLRs since 2006. Right now I have a 5D3, 24-70II, 70-200/2.8 IS II, 100-400 II. That is functionally a body and set of zooms that can do almost anything.

I also have a Sony A7r3 with a handfull of primes and the Sony 24-105.

For a long time, I used the Canon gear to shoot my family......events, sports, travels. I still like the Canon for sports, but my two best athletes are now out of the nest and on their own.

I picked up the Sony because we do backcountry camping, especially living out of canoes and kayaks on the great lakes. I love the Sony stuff for the ability to assemble a smallish kit. My travel gear has to live in a Pelican case......smaller is super important because the cases are really big and heavy if you want to put a lot of gear in them.

My original plan was ......get the Sony stuff (and adapt for a while) and then sell off the Canon stuff. But these days, my Canon stuff isn't worth as much on the used market as it is to me, so I keep it. Maybe if the 5D4 gets cheap enough on the used market, I might even upgrade the body.

Really, I don't have anything in the Sony system that does 400mm.....and it might be smarter to get a 5D4 used than to buy a Sony 100-400GM. Both systems work, both can be really good. And the used value of my Canon stuff isn't great versus what use I can get from it.

I use a Canon 5DIII and a Sony A7rIII

I have a Sony A72 and Nikon D750. I had a Nikon D810, had some extra cash and bought the Sony to see what all the fuss was about. I ended up really liking the Sony - so much that when the Nikon Z6 came out, I decided to go all-mirrorless and dumped the D810 and most of my lenses and went all-in on the Z6.

After doing one shoot with the Z6, I really missed a DSLR and traded the Z6 for the D750. I've been taking pictures for over 40 years maybe that's why I just feel more comfortable with a DSLR. Something about the size, handling... even the sound of the shutter is comforting. But, I just can't get rid of the Sony, my favorite walk around kit is the A72 with Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5 and 40mm f/1.2.

It really makes no sense to keep both systems, I could sell one and fill in the gaps in the other. But, I like them both so, as long as it's feasible, I will run both and probably upgrade and add to both systems if I can. I can see myself eventually buying an A7R3 or maybe A9, the recently announced Tamron 70-180mm f/2.8 for the Sony and a Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 and Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 for the Nikon.

I've had many bodies and lenses from (for) Canon, Nikon, Sony, Olympus and Fuji but my current setup is my favorite.

Samyang 12mm f/2.8, Nikon 105mm f/2 DC
Nikon F2A, Nikon F4s - Nikon 24-120mm f/3.5-5.6D
Sony A9, Voigtlander 15mm f/4.5, Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2, Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8

Currently I have 2 (over)complete systems, MFT and FF.

For MFT I shoot Olympus Pen-F and Olympus E-M1 MkII, with an array of lenses mostly from Olympus these days, but also with some Panasonic glass, and within this system setup I have glass for anything for a light travel system to a much less light ayatem :). This comes in handy when travelling for work. I generally use MFT for snapshots as well.

FF wise I shoot Canon (currently an EOS R), basically because of their specialist lens selection, ergonomy (both physical, camera wise, and user menu wise), and teh fact that I could always use MF with any Canon camera body barring the 5D III (I;ve got weird eyes) - I could never focus properly with Nikon cameras when I mad the original choice.

When I first experienced mirrorless (Panasonic GX1), I knew this was the way forward. I got myself a Panasonic GF2 with a bunch of lenses back in 2011 as a result, and got a few more MFT bodies, until a few years ago I ended up with a Pen-F and an E-M1 II, which are just great for me. I had a GM5 as well, but never really used it, so sold that again. Just too small for me - I like small, but that was just not functional enough for me. BTW, the Pen_F effectively replaced my Canon G10 as teh camera I have always with me.

With Canon I followed the path from 350D to 400D to 40D, 5D and finally 5D II, where it stopped for a while, as I could not MF with a 5D III body - I never could see whether the image was sharp or not through the OVF of teh 5D III. The 5D IV was ok again, but I found it too pricey, plus I would have preferred the 5Ds, even pricier in that case, for my type of shooting.

Anyway, by the time I had the funds available, I was really holding out to see what Canon would do with mirrorless, and when tryiing out an EOS R and an EOS RP I could not wait any longer, especially with the fantastic new glass accompanying the new series, so I went for the R - just more comfortable ergonomically, and a stellar EVF. I will likely add another EOS R series body when the right c for my purposes - camera is launched, but that will take some time still.

The reasons I am sticking with both systems is first of all IQ, which between Oly and Canon is very similar when it comes to rendering SooC images, and because I think there has to be a decent step between camera and lens sizes for different systems. Between APS-C and FF there is not enough of a difference IMO, and for me the mix of MFT and FF is just right. In addition, I could also use my EF glass on Oly quite easily, with adapters and speedboosters.

I have never been interested in other digital systems, since the next step up does not exist yet in an affordable way, IMO anyway :).

I also still have an analog camera, an EOS 5, but that really is just collecting dust. I had a complete Pentax system, but I decided to get rid of that a couple of yeats ago, for the same reason, the dust problem, and the space it took up ;).

Kind regards, Wim

EOS R & EOS 5 (analog) with a gaggle of primes & 3 zooms, OM-D E-M1 Mk II & Pen-F with 10 primes, 6 zooms, 3 Metabones adapters/speedboosters, and an accessory plague

I've been shooting with a Nikon D750 for a while, and just added a Fuji X-pro2 to the mix. I wanted another digital camera to have as backup, but wanted to switch it up a bit so I went with the X-pro2. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I really enjoy it. It's a lot lighter than my D750 and 50mm f1.4, and I'm still happy with the images. It's also a more exciting experience to shoot with as opposed to the D750. I don't have any plans to sell my D750, so I'll shoot with both for the foreseeable future.

I was Leica M and Canon for a few years. In late 2015 sold all the Canon stuff and I made the jump to all Leica M. No regrets at all. Love the smaller, less obtrusive, and rangefinder shooting experience. It really fits the way I see and work.

I've been a a long-time Canon shooter- The original Rebel, 40D, 7D 1 and 2, 5D2, and 1DX. Accumulated a lot of lenses to go along with all of that. I've gotten started on Sony mirrorless gear though, and am slowly building a kit there.

I find I can do almost anything with the Sony gear that I did with Canon, and honestly- the shooting experience is better for me with Sony. Eye AF, wifi connectability, EVF, SD cards, and smaller size are all pluses. I shoot a lot of sports, and the only time I have been frustrated is trying to shoot VOlleyball recently. However- I am sure this was a result of the adapted lens. I was shooting a Sony a7iii, through a metabones adapter, onto a Sigma 120-300 lens, and asking the whole setup to "speak" in Canon... in spite of not having a bit of Canon gear in the mix. Again- no surprise here, the AF wasn't keeping up with volleyball.

In general, I've done well adapting lenses to other sports. There is a difference, to be sure, but in most cases it's negligible enough that I don't think it affects my shots. I've shot Field Hockey, Cross Country, Soccer and Golf with Canon lenses adapted to the Sony body with no issue.

Of course, for portraits and commercial work, where fast AF is not as critical, everything works great.

Time will tell if I ever fully switch. I look at all the canon gear I've accumulated and wonder if it will ever be worthwhile to move on...

Currently my favourite combo is the Sony A73 with Gmaster 16-35 f/2.8. Something so odd to have excellent IQ and never really being concerned when low light becomes part of the equation. High iso is incredibly clean and AF is very good. The 5dmk4 with my 16-35 f/1.2mk2 is heavier so this is where I feel the need for alternatives.

Still feel I get rock solid performance using Canon "one shot" while bouncing flash utilizing red focus assist. The Sony system cannot take full advantage of red focus assist I get from my Godox V1S flash. My Canon bouncing flash seldom ever hunts in low light but I cannot say the same for my Sony.

Old Canon, always old :) Leica and old Panasonic. About to add old OM as my first 4/3.
I don’t have closets full of lenses. More like couple of cameras, few lenses.

To complicate matters even more, I just purchased a Lumix GX85 with 3 lenses: 14mm f2.5, 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 and 45-150mm f4.0-5.6! Very nice, solid feel to this little camera and the controls are (somewhat) similar to Nikon!
