I always welcome thoughts.... How can one learn from others if they don't listen? I like the idea of the third crop and see what you mean about the window, which was really to get rid of the entrance area on the Lower Left of the first crop.

Perhaps your dark area crop and crop out the windows entirely??? hmmmmm.

Thanks for the comments.

Yes....that would work too. :-)

There is something to be said for lack of focus on certain images. Grand steel mills, the intersection of technology and force, become hazy memories of our forefather's lives.

was the lack of focus intentional or just by chance. Either way, I'd still prefer a bit of focus :-P

There is nothing to look at, no focal point to draw your eye. I don't get it... But hey, I'm not a critic.-?

Intentional. Manual focus as ~3" - 4" will do it. From that perspective, shallow DoF or full DoF really didn't work... that comp needed to be treated different, hence the OOF.

Fair feedback and good to hear. I suppose that, for me, as long as the image is recognizable, then the concept works. Not to drag on with it, but how would you present a hazy / fading memory? I think the sepia route would have been overly artificial here.

And ok, here's one in focus.
