That blue is so iridescent looking, Richard. Really nice shot of that pretty boy!!

Thanks Mike, yes the blue is vibrant and really lights up when the sun is on it

Black Phoebe

you certainly have some different birds.
I like these, very nice
This one has a look of curiosity on its face.

The black phoebe is actually kind of a commoner around here. I see them every day. They are neat birds, and I enjoy watching them. You are right...we do have a fairly large variety of different species. I've always been most interested in waterfowl, and waterbirds in general. It's only in recent years that I've become interested in all varieties of birds.

LD, or Mike

Wonderful photo and a very good pose. He's looking right at me out of the corner of his eye. I've not seen these birds here.

Beautiful sharp portrait shot of the hawk, Paul. And the creamy background is very nice.

Many thanks LD.

American Bushtit.

eBird descrbes them as "Tiny, fluffy gray balls that are constantly in motion". These birds change perches at least twice a second! I must have looked like a photographer trying to capture a ping-pong ball during an Olympic table tennis match. :-)

It took me about 50 tries to get this shot.

Edited 8/15/19: Well, this is embarrassing. It turns out that this cute little hyperactive bird is not a bushtit, it’s a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. The white eye ring is the giveaway.
