This guy took a break on my deck just long enough to let me give the new Oly 60mm Macro a quick once over...

Ok every one, time for a laugh at my expense, I really don't mind. I believe I have solved the mystery of the branch behind being in better focus, I was using back button focus but some how the camera had set itself... all by itself, erm on manual. I do believe that my thumb has slid that switch down while I was fumbling for AE/AF lock button to use the back button focus set up. Enjoy and I am sure my lens will rejoice knowing I was the one at fault! :p:-P:rolleyes::-P:-D

I do believe this may may been asked earlier, do we want to limit this thread to G9 or make it open to Panasonic or 4/3rds?, reason being I have invited SCALPA https://photography-on-the.net …ad.php?t=1119720&page=647 to join us.

As a non Panasonic bloke but a 4 thirds one, I breezed by to look at the G9 and associated lenses.
I know we mix and match lenses and the differences on Panasonic or Olympus may vary.
Anyway, I'm happy to browse even if I did dive into your discussion.

Would it get too mixed to have say Olympus cameras in here too.
It then means more opportunity to get lost in the settings of various cameras and make it difficult for users or worse, drive the G9 users to distraction?

I (me} wouldn't get upset by it not opening to other camera brands (4/3 rds)
My 2 bobs worth.

I think we agreed a wee while ago to have another Panasonic camera user here, as it has the same sensor?

I think probably needs to remain Panasonic rather than m4/3rds, because I understand there are quite major menu differences?

There are also a large number of forums at https://www.mu-43.com/ (external link) for m4/3rds users.

Just my 2 cents :-)

Panasonic G9: Panasonic Vario 14 -140 f/3.5-5.6: Leica 8 -18 f/2.8-4
Canon M5: A variety of Canon, Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, prime and zoom lenses, Samyang fisheye, 2 lovely Minolta MD, and just for fun a Helios 44-2 58m.

There's no doubt about you NZ'ers.
You make excellent stuff, innovative and can do that and sell cheaper here than we can make same.
It's proved here. My effort cost 2 bob, yours was mere 2 cents. We'll never win at that rate. :p

I elbowed in with the GX9 since it is same sensor and pretty much same menu (except for what it doesn’t do that the G9 does). I probably wouldn’t be opposed to being more inclusive with other MFT- I spend most of my time here, not nearly as much on mu-43.com. Nice to have “one stop” for photography forum time.
