Nice scene, looks underexposed by a decent amount, I wonder if you brightened it up if it would look better. You'd have to do that selectively of course so you don't blow out the sky.

It all depends on if you want to retain the overcast feel of the day.

I'm going by the color of the vegetation in the foreground, I think even on an overcast day the colors should be a bit more vivid than that. I wasn't there of course, but they seem darker and slightly washed out versus what I'd expect, and maybe the white balance isn't quite on the mark.

Boreas Pass. The story, according to the plaque up there, is that for about 50 years they ran a railroad over the pass, and they chopped down the trees to use for building a station and some support buildings at the top. The railroad stopped running in 1937 and was converted into a road. Must have been a chore keeping that thing going in the winter where I'd guess they get 2 to 3 hundred inches of snow a year.

How much does it cost to drive up there? Thinking I'd like to see those Bristlecone Pines one of these days.

If you have a national parks pass, it's included. If you also drive up in the evening, no one is at the ranger station.

Actually I think we went down to Three Arches in Laguna Beach. But since that are is blocked off by the private homes, we went to the beach next to it. Where the 1000 steps are.
