I hear ya on the kill off Bob. We now have CWD in deer herds close to our area. I think life for our deer herds will be getting worse before they start getting better.

Terry Bob,thank you for the notes on disease. I knew nothing of this. We seem to be fortunate in blighty no CWD here yet ,the Brit Deer Society are actively trying to keep it from our shores. Can I just wish ya both all the luck for your local deer. So sad to read of such things but I'm grateful to have
the knowledge that this is happening............it must be devastating for you both to see.

Many thanks both said with some degree of sadness

Since they are, technically, deer; these are some of my best/favs:

This magnificent guy was grazing near the side of the highway outside of Jasper, AB

Getting her graze on in the lake (Glacier Nat' Park)

Not so much "stalking" as talking; we tried to cajole this buck into getting off the trail and a Ranger wound up physically SHOVING him out of our way :D

Some very nice East Tennessee bucks Bob. Great that you are able to get such wonderful photos of them. Our larger bucks are pretty camera shy.

Both shots were shot in a down pour from a running truck. I know the running truck is bad but we had so much fun. I got to spend the day with my son and granddaughter on a fun drive up the Tetons to shoot pictures.

Thanks KT29 .... These are not even our "big guys"
We have several much larger of 13, 12, and 10 points. These are from Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They are never hunted so they are much less wary of humans

And while I think of it, here is another of red deer. To me it looks like the young buck is taking noted.
