Hello to all the group members! We will be visiting Scotland (staying in Glasgow) from the US the first week of August. Are any of you from that area? Any tips on any rugby related events during that time? We will have a car so anywhere in Scotland really. Does the National team ever hold workouts open to the public?

Thanks!

Just checked Glasgow warriors site and pre season is September onwards. I have two tickets for the Scotland Vs France game I can redirect if you are still around?

Great shots there. Getting a bit of cabin fever, so heading to a practice session on Tuesday and a pre session “ friendly” on the 10th August, can’t wait.

Well in the off-season (last week actually) I bought an Olympus EM1-X. I had tried the EM1-X earlier in the year and was impressed. A re-working of the finances (ie, not telling the wife) and trading in Canon 7Dii was done.
I paired it with the Olympus 40-150 F2.8 which make sit 80-300 F2.8 and give it a go at a friendly last week. Spent a lot of time testing out various features/settings and not quite there yet. But here are a couple.

The worry I have is the small sensor and the not so good at Higher ISO question. I have therefore kept my Canon 5D3 and 1D3 with the 100-400 Mark 2 lens.

As a banker I took the 1D3 .. and shot some for the club website in case the Olympus failed …… and it was raining and I did not want tp get my new camera wet !!!

president (left) to chairman (right) "70-0 is not the start we wanted, but at least the pitch looks fantastic".
chairman's response "caravan club are here next week, so that'll be gone too"
secretary (centre) to all "anyone got a plan B?"
at least pre season went well with a few additions to the mini section
