Every week we select a new theme, and then go out and shoot that theme. This weeks the theme is Still Life. As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.

Here's a chance to Hold Still... Show us a Still Life!

Here are the rules:
1. Shots need to be taken between Monday Sunset and the following Monday by Sunset (Whenever that is for you ). Because this activity is supposed to encourage us to get out and shoot, please don't post old shots from your archives. Snapshots and art are equally welcome -- just get out & shoot, and then share!
2. Post your shots at any time during the week.
3. Post a maximum of two shots if you're uploading them to POTN (i.e., attaching them). You can post more than two if you're linking to shots that are not hosted by POTN (i.e. embedding them), but keep within POTN rules. Also keep within POTN rules about size. A copy of the size rules can be found here: IMAGE POSTING RULES
That's it! Have fun! As always be as imaginative/creative as you like when interpreting the theme, creativity is what we're looking for.
An index to previous weeks can be found here: POTN WORLDWIDE PHOTO WEEK INDEX

That's it!
Have fun!

From the Pacific Northwest. An area that was logged over 100 years ago, still has a lot of life in it!

It's been a rough week. I haven't had a chance to set up any still lifes.

Last Monday, my husband had a bad fall and hit his head. He'd been doing laundry. I'd been working in the backyard. I went back toward the house and found him lying on his back on a concrete walkway between the house and the driveway, with a river of blood starting below his head and extending two feet on the pavement. He was conscious but confused. We talked briefly (I was trying to assess his condition) before I went inside to make the call. He recognized me but didn't seem to know he'd been injured. Later, he didn't understand why paramedics were around. He was lucid again within a few hours, but he has no memory of anything that happened between doing laundry and coming to in the ER. He doesn't know why he went out the back door (from the laundry room), probably to throw something away.

He was in the hospital two nights for testing and observation. The major injuries are a small subdural hematoma, which they say will be absorbed, and a cracked bone in his left wrist, fortunately not the dominant side. He has a cast on his forearm–technically a splint, but it looks like a cast–and little use of that hand. The cast will be on for six weeks. I'll be doing more than usual around the house and yard. Neighbors have offered help such as driving if we need any.

So, in lieu of homemade custom still lifes, my contribution is a quick shot of a dish garden that decorates the waiting room in the office where I had a root canal today.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's ordeal. I truly hope that he will recover fast and his forearm heals fast, too.
My best wishes to both of you ,ߤ

Oh thank goodness your husband is on the mend, how scary! And then to have to go thru a root canal? That IS a rough week. Truly hope this week is quieter and filled with healing for both of you. While you try to fill in for him, don’t sweat the small stuff. This too shall pass! Super shot, btw. :-)
