Those are a couple of nice shots, Will. If that wing tip bothers you, it's an easy fix in photoshop with a cloning tool.

Thanks man, it did cross my mind, but I would have to take out the greenery on the bottom and add blue sky to the bottom as well when I fill in the wing tip. That is major surgery I have never attempted lol.

How would I extend the sky to fit in the cloned wing tip?

I have Photoshop Elements.

Will...I use photoshop CC 2019, and I would use what is called "content aware fill. " It allows you to resize your crop to whatever size you need to, and it will automatically add the rest of the content (the feather and the bush) that was cut off, plus it will automatically include the bush to make it slightly bigger, taking it out to the edge of the photo. It is an amazing tool...one that I use frequently and I'm amazed every time I use it.

I'm assuming that Elements doesn't have "content aware," so you'd have to use your cropping tool to extent the edges of the photo. Everything that you would extend would appear pure white, and here is where you would use your cloning tool to extend that single feather and make it look perfectly natural. The cloning tool would also work great to extend your bush enough to fill in the white area of the extended crop you have created.

If you haven't done this before, it sounds very complicated, but in fact, it is really quick and easy to do. I know what I'm telling you is not really very clear, but it's so much easier to talk someone thru the process. If you want to get in touch with me, send a PM, and I'll give you my cell number.

Cheers,

Mike

Been using Content aware since version 9 of PS Elements - unfortunately it does not have the Content Aware Fill, but it does have Content Aware Move - so I simply drew around the eagle and moved it up a little bit - and to my surprise it also drew in the wing-tip extension automatically.

Also unfortunately, PSE only allows 8bit colour when using content aware, instead of the native 16bit.

I went back to the original and had some sky to play with, so it worked out well!

Thanks guys ~

No worries and apologies for overwriting your watermark - I assumed it was okay to do this in order to demonstrate the use of the tools in PS to remove the green shrubbery.

Cheers
