These are both very nicely done shots, Will.

Just got the new 100-400L II. Been using the older pump action 100-400. This lens just amazes me.

its just turned to spring here and the birds are breeding and fighting, got these crazy coots going at it like a fight club. Really hate the lens Im using though, I've tried so many things with it plus micro adjusting but the images still seem soft and the focus not precise. I miss my tamron, really regretting selling it

Thanks. I've waited since 2014. I'm retired but picked up some consulting work in Texas which allowed me to pull the plug.

I read one reviewer (Northrup I think) compared my Sigma 150-600mm to your II version at 400mm. He said that my 600mm sharpness is = to the 400 II cropped to 600mm equivalent. So you have a sharp lens at 400mm.

I rented the 150-600 Sigma. They only had the sport version. It weighed a ton. Pictures were sharp. I backpack and it just doesn't fit in the pack. Too big collapsed and the C version was plastic. Wouldnt hold up well specially the way I tumble around :) . Most of my friends have the Sigma and are happy with it but few take it packing.

This place (Teatown Reservation Lake in Ossining, NY) is already showing signs of foliage. Definitely going back mid-October.
