Help!!! I am surrounded by "O" (Ocean)
and how beautiful it is...

We know. I envy your surroundings every week.

Nice but the amount of cinnamon scares me unless it's just cassia and not the real thing

itsallart wrote in post #18922505 (external link)
It was a typo on my part. Of course cassia isn't the real thing :) I never use it.

I know. But just adding the word "not" as in "not the real thing" it now says that you hope it's cassia and not the real thing. It makes no sense!

This rewrite would make sense: "Nice but the amount of cinnamon scares me if it's just cassia and not the real thing."

Would have been simpler to just replace Cassia with Ceylon:

"Nice but the amount of cinnamon scares me unless it's just Ceylon and the real thing."

Then "just" would be deleted and a comma could replace "and." Approaching maximal simplicity asymptotically.

I'm not responsible for how Renata composes her sentences. This is not about writing perfect English, OhLook.

That was actually my intention but I never corrected my OP.

In my case either scares me perhaps because where I live sweet buns etc. are completely overloaded with it and all you can taste is the spice and not what you are actually eating.

As far as the rest goes, I'd say it is not about writing in perfect English since I can't at times; English being my seventh language acquired at a relatively "old" age of thirty something.

Anyway, I hope we won't get into my silly typos too much, since this is a photography and not a writing or English major forum :)

Ok, here is a bunch of shots starting with "O".

Oil refinery and orange glass sculptures by Chihuly with a horrible purple but complementary up lighting.

But I'm better at analyzing sentences than at photography! Why let such a talent go to waste?

I know this isn’t the right place (no photos) but I have to say, seven languages is most impressive - I have one and a half at most! Respect to you Renata.
