I learned about them as a young child (yes, I was animal-crazy all the way back then, too) and used to delight in amazing my friends, who thought I was incredibly brave when I tempted them onto my finger or tickled them on a flower 5D3, 7D2, EF 16-35 f/2.8L, EF 24-70 f/2.8L II, EF 24-105 f/4L, EF 70-200 f/2.8L II, EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L II, EF 1.4x III, Sigma 150mm macro, Lumix LX100 plus a cupboard full of bags, tripods, flashes & stuff.

Would you believe I live in the desert? Not as many bugs as I would like but the ones we have are pretty interesting! The recent antlion pics and the katydid pics were both taken last night with the 90D. Once the weather cools down a bit I might take a few dusk/night trips out to see if the tarantulas are still active, that should be interesting. Flickr stream: https://flic.kr/ps/se6hB

I quite like cicadas! Went to the Amarillo area of Texas several years ago and expected to find an insect wasteland but was surprised to see quite a few bugs, including a bunch of cicadas.
