That spider's meal is definitely a wasp, Terry. It looks like a Common Wasp to me. Their sting is retractable, so you won't see it till they want you to! Kudos to the spider for killing a tough opponent.

I get along with most critters, even the stingy/bitey ones, because they mostly don't want to get in a fight with something that's too big to eat. Wasps are an exception. Belligerent little tw@s.

The eye is a giveaway, definitely a wasp. Very similar to our North American Yellowjacket.

Nice shot. Yeah, looks like a wasp to me too. Brave spider - there are wasps that parasitize them.
