Derek, it's quite simple to do the update. You just go to the link above (provided in Mark A's post), download the file appropriate for you (Windows or Mac) and then just follow the instructions. You need to have a fresh battery and a formatted card with a card reader - that's it. Post questions if you have any and good luck.

Annie , I think you have an idea how useless I am with this. I might just leave things as they are.

I have just checked my firmware and it is 1.1.6 so is there any need for me to (attempt) an update?

Thanks I'm always looking out for interesting insects.

This is a female Southern Migrant Hawker (I think). When I tried to move the stalk across its wings it flew off. I'm afraid my Photoshop skills are not up to removing it in post!

some recent shots at Grand Teton park. Got a Sigma 150-600 for the trip. Really happy with the lens. I used it side by side with a 300 F/2.8L and a TC.
